HumanSync is a group-trip coordination platform used by tour operators to manage schedules, transport and room assignments, headcounts, and communication with their travelers. This policy explains what information HumanSync collects, why, and how it's protected, for anyone using the HumanSync app or website (together, the "Service").
Who provides this Service: HumanSync is operated by akdsystemslb for its tour-operator clients (each, an "Organization"). If you're a traveler using HumanSync, your Organization (e.g. your tour operator) is the one that invited you and controls your trip data; HumanSync processes it on their behalf.
Information we collect

Location data, specifically
- Location sharing is off by default and only active when you explicitly turn it on for a trip.
- It's used only by your trip's guides/staff, only for that trip, and only for coordination and safety (e.g. confirming everyone made it to the meeting point).
- You can turn it off at any time; doing so stops new location data from being collected.
How your information is used
- Running the trip: seat/room assignments, schedules, meeting points, headcounts, and alerts.
- Communication: chat and notifications between you, your fellow travelers, and trip staff.
- Safety: locating a group during an active trip if sharing is on, and confirming everyone is accounted for.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who your information is shared with
- Your Organization's staff (e.g. your trip's guides and admins) — only the staff assigned to your trip, and only what their role needs to see.
- Service providers that help run HumanSync: our hosting provider, Google Firebase (for push notification delivery), and OpenFreeMap (for map tiles — no account or API key is involved, but loading a map tile inherently reveals your device's IP address to that provider, the same as loading any map online).
- We do not share your data with unrelated third parties, and we do not sell it.
Data retention and security
- Data is encrypted at rest, and access to sensitive fields (like requirements or location) is restricted by role and logged.
- Data is kept only as long as needed for your trip and your Organization's own retention settings, after which it's automatically deleted by scheduled cleanup.
Children's data
Some trips include minors traveling with a parent, guardian, or group leader. In those cases, the minor's information is entered and managed by their travel companion or the Organization on their behalf, as part of normal trip booking — a child does not create their own HumanSync account.
Your choices
- You can turn location sharing off at any time in the app.
- You can turn push notifications off in your device or app settings.
- To request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion, contact your Organization (your tour operator) directly, or reach us using the details below and we'll route it to them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
